Accreditation Pathways

Choose the route that matches your mosque’s starting point. Eco Mosque Accreditation is tiered (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and supported by the 10-Point Environmental Pledge. Each pathway is evidence-based, practical to deliver, and aligned to the Eco Mosque Standard.

Start with the foundations. Bronze confirms that governance is in place and delivery has begun against the Eco Mosque Standard. Establish a Green Team, adopt a trustee-approved environmental policy, complete baseline checks, and implement early priority actions. Evidence is simple and practical—policies, photos, logs, invoices, and baseline utility information.

Move from commitment to consistent implementation. Silver recognises stronger delivery across the Standard themes with operational controls embedded into day-to-day practice. Typical requirements include completing key upgrades, improving water efficiency in wudu areas, strengthening waste systems, and embedding environmental reporting into governance—supported by clear evidence.

Gold Accreditation

Demonstrate best practice and leadership. Gold recognises mosques that embed sustainability across operations and facilities, deliver advanced improvements where feasible, and evidence outcomes transparently. Gold-level mosques typically maintain robust reporting, publish a longer-term plan, and contribute beyond their own site by sharing learning and supporting other mosques.

Formalise your commitment as a leadership team. The 10-Point Pledge is the onboarding step that helps assign responsibilities, mobilise volunteers, and begin delivery. It covers khutbahs and education, waste reduction, plastics policy, water-saving in wudu areas, community action, and sustainable planning for renovations and events.
